Running, running and more running (splint or no splint!) Georgie and her friend Mary have had there heaviest training weeks this part of the summer in preparation for Georgie’s second race of summer the “Traces des Ducs Savoie” (or TDS) which is 119 km long with a lot of up along the way! They practiced the part they will run at night time over two days. The same weekend Dan went on a much more “sane” adventure climbing on a north face on one of the Chamonix Aiguilles, he much prefers tickling granite than pounding trails….However he was talked into going for a ‘gentle jog’ with the girls – We ran the first part of the race – 30 KM (18.6miles) with 2500 meters of ascent. We started in Courmayeur in Italy and finished in La Thuile. By the time we finished Dan was ready for a nap on the bus back to Courmayeur then pizza, beer and a spa!
We will finish with another firework display at the Chamonix Fête Des Guides, Georgie having the wire removed from her hand and knowing that summer still isn’t over yet!!
