On an early evening summers walk in the Aiguille Rouge and I came across this Ibex foraging in the bracken.

This is Baldrick, he is a very handsome dog.
Two young Ibex having a sparring match. I walked up into the Aiguille Rouges one summers evening and these two were tussling on the path, I sat for ages watching them, incredible creatures.
During the Covid-19 Lockdown in April 2020 I went for my allowed one hour daily exercise and just walked through the woods, they looked pretty magical.
December 2017, I went for an early season ski tour to Mont Buet, a 3000m mountain close to the French/Suisse boarder. There had been a lot of fresh snow and on our amazing descent we sat and watched a mother and baby Chamois gracefully hopping through the 50cm of powder.
I have never seen Golden Eagles in Chamonix before but during the Covid-19 Lockdown in April 2020 three of them appeared and soared around for a couple of warm afternoons - I believe this is a young Eagle.
As with the Golden Eagles, this Black Kite also showed up during the lock down.

Whilst on an expedition to Kamchatka in far Eastern Russia we took a boat trip into the bay on a down day and this Puffin was one of the many amazing animals we came across. May 2019.

We had a bit of a close call with this dude, he came about 10 meters from our camp but with the help of some random local dogs, banging on pots and pans and waving skis around we managed to scare him away - amazing powerful animals. May 2019.
