In May 2019 I went on an expedition to Kamchatka in far east Russia This is the summit of the Vilyuchinsky Volcano. We climbed and skied the couloir on the right of the image after leaving our tent 1800m below.

Taken from Argentiere in winter 2017, early evening light on the North Face of the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc in the back ground. Perspective is a funny thing as Mont Blanc is 1000m higher than the Midi.

Taken in October 2017, the Aiguille du Midi has had a first coat of snow while the valley below basks in the autumnal evening sunshine.
In April 2020 during the Covid-19 lock down the moon was super close to the earth and massive, everything aligned this night as the moon climbed it’s way up the ridge of the Midi and for a moment or two sat directly behind its spire.
Leading up to the full Super Moon I watched the moon becoming fuller and fuller everyday and rising in a different place every night, here it has risen further west and earlier so was perched above Cosmiques Arete. Taken in April 2020 during the Covid-19 lock down.
Taken as the sun is setting in winter, the Midi lift is hovering in the clouds on its was down at the end of the day.
Taken in Summer of 2019 whilst taking product shots for Run the Alps a storm blew in and engulfed Mont Blanc, Mont Maudit and started clutching at Mont Blanc du Tacul, the contrast was amazing.
Many fun alpine routes finish up this ridge, its a wild place to be, just don’t get too close to the edge! Summer 2019.
